The new protein evaluation system for ruminants in Bulgaria - advantages, weakness, and needs of additional research

The aim of the paper is to make a critical analysis of advantages and disadvantages of the new protein system, adopted in Bulgaria in 1991, in relations with new investigations during recent years, as well as to show problems needed additional research. It have been emphasized the most important advantages and weakness of the new protein system. The main research problems, which need to be tackle by Bulgarian science of animal nutrition are indicated.
