It was estableshed that the duration of the lactation period in sheep from the Karakachan breed depended on the lactation number (P0.001). The sheep from the related lines 5101, 2509, 1503, 5116 and 1512 showed highest milk yield compared to the rest. The variation of traits including composition and properties of sheep milk was comparatively low exept for the lactose content C
