Effect of some protein containing products on bee life span

The effect of soy-been flour, maize gluten, forage yeast, hydrolized forage yeast and hydrolized animal blood on the life span of bees fed in thermostat have been studied. All used products are not toxic to honey bee and except hydrolized animal blood are enough attractive. The addition of all products except maize gluten to the bee food decreases the bee life span. The protein containing products can be used successful as pollen substitutes for bee feeding.
