2003
Danova, S. (Institute of Microbiology, Dept. of Genetics, Sofia (Bulgaria)) | Diankova, S. | Bakalov, B.
Twenty-one Lactobacillus strains isolated from vaginal samples were screened for the antagonistic activity against different pathogenic and non-pathogenic test-microorganisms. Relatively high % of activity was detected against Bacillus spp., Proteus vulgaris and E. coli. However the isolates did not inhibit the test-cultures of Yersinia enterocolitica (III serotype) Candida albicans and Sacharomyces cerevisiae. One bacteriocinogenic strain was found. By well diffusion method was established activity against E. coil HB101 and L. innocua F. The Lactobacillus susceptibility to metronidazol and other antibiotics was evaluated.
