Peroxidase is the ferment possessing a heightened sensibility to the environment, able to react on the most of homeostasis disturbences. The review is about the characteristics of molecule constitution and peroxidase function; its participation in metabolic processes of plant organism. Nowadays much work is dedicated to studying the variability of peroxidase complex in case of different injuries of plant organism. A special role is given to peroxidase in plant resistance to extreme temperatures. A number of authors in their papers consider the possibility of use peroxidase as a genetic marker of plant resistance to stress factors of the environment
