A selection program aiming at locating particular biotypes in very old vineyards of Chasselas was carried out by the Swiss federal research Station of Changins (RAC). Two trials set up in the RAC experimental vineyards of Changins and Leytron led to the selection of five new clones (RAC 4, RAC 5, RAC 6, RAC 7 and RAC 8). Initially selected as table grape, the French clone 31 also appeared to be interesting. Analytic and organoleptic results of these clones are presentedin comparison to the others, the clone RAC 8 showed a different profile. The mineral composition of the leaves, of the must and of the wine of some clones was also studied. An important variability was observed for the leaves mineral content. No relation was found between the mineral composition of the leaves at veraison and the pruning weight. In the same way, no relation has been showed between the mineral composition of the leaves and of the musts and the wines.
