Evaluation of soybean root system - influence of different seed provenance

The aim of our work was to analyse the relation between seed provenance (crops from semiarid or watered conditions) and number of nodules. The irrigation during vegetation period had positive influence on the seed weight and in next generation on the root development, volume of roots, dry matter of roots and shoots and root/shoot ratio. Inoculation by Bradyrhizobium japonicum positively affected the growth and especially root traits in both cultivars.
