This formulation was made by using a mixture of activated charcoal, tapioca, kaolin, Na-alginate as filler matrix and the second formulation using zeolite with couted shelak. The observation were done on the damage level caused by Orseolia oryzae (Wood/Mason), Chilo suppressalis (Walker), and Cnaphalocrosis medinalis (Guen) on new young plants. The observation were done every two weeks after transplanting until harvest. Both formulation have the same results showed that new young plants on the early stage growth showed no differences among the treatments, then becoming more different between controlled release formulation and commercial formulation or untreated plants. The attack of Orseolia oryzae could be observed on every week of the observation but only on the fifth weeks were significant difference found. The attack of Chilo suppressalis on the seventh week showed significant difference, while the attack of Cnaphalocrosis medinalis appeared on the seventh and ninth weeks showing no differences./Formulasi dibuat dengan menggunakan campuran karbon aktif, tepung kanji, kaolin, Na-alginat sebagai penyangga dan formulasi kedua menggunakan zeolit yang dilapisi shelak. Pemberian formulasi dilakukan 2 minggu setelah tanaman padi ditanam kembali. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap jumlah anakan padi tingkat kerusakan tanaman yang disebabkan oleh hama ganjur Orseolia oryzae (Wood/Mason), penggerek batang padi Chilo suppressalis (Walker), hama putih palsu Cnaphalocrosis medinalis (Guen) selang 2 minggu setelah padi ditanam sepanjang masa tanam. Kedua formulasi tersebut menunjukkan hasil yang sama bahwa jumlah anakan yang tumbuh mula-mula pada kelima perlakuan sama, kemudian pada pemberian formulasi penglepasan terkendali menjadi lebih banyak dibandingkan komersial ataupun kontrol. Serangan hama ganjur berbeda nyata pada minggu ke 5, sedang serangan hama penggerek batang terjadi pada minggu ke 7 terhadap karbofuran komersial ataupun kontrol, selanjutnya terlihat bahwa tingkat serangan hama putih palsu hanya terjadi pada minggu ke 7 dan 9 dan tak berbeda nyata pada setiap perlakuan.
