T3, T4 concentrations in dogs with non-thyroidal illness

The effects of non-thyroid illness (NTI) (Urinary tract diseases, neoplasia, infection and skin diseases etc.) was studied on the thyroid hormone concentrations in dogs. TT4 (P0.001), fT4 (P.01), fT3 (p.01) and TSH (P.001) concentration were low in dog with NTI when compared to control values. Thyroid hormone was found decreased in gastrointestinal and infectious diseases (p.05).
