Himalayan-Subhimalayan belt extending from Jammu and Kashmir in west to Naga hills in the east is endemic for goitre. The present investigation reports the prevalence and severity of goitre in goats and its correlation with iodine status in soil, water and pasture of Tarai area of Kumaon region.
