Prediction models for sugarcane production system
2002
Srivastava, A.K. | Shahi, H.N. (Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow (India))
The concept of modeling agricultural production systems has evolved to a considerable extent during the last five decades. Dynamic growth and statistical yield models were developed for cotton, grain sorghum, wheat, corn, soybean, alfalfa, peanuts, dry beans, potato, millets, tomato, sugarcane etc. These models studied irrigation management, harvesting schedule, land use planning, multiple crop sequences and yield and quality forecasting. Besides modeling has also been attempted to forecast the frequency and intensity of occurrence of insect-pests and diseases of various crops.
