Response of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) cultivars to nitrogen and azotobacter under conserved moisture conditions

A field experiment was conducted during winter season of 1996 to study the behaviour of Indian mustard varieties in relation to fertility levels and nitrogen economy in relation to azotobacter. The experiment was conducted under dryland conditions on conserved soil moisture. The results revealed that all the growth and yield attributing characters helped in harvesting significantly highest seed yield (34.6 q/ha) and oil content (38.1%) when supplied with 60 kg N+azotobacter. There was a significant improvement in seed yield by azotobacter treatment. Cv. RH-819 harvested maximum seed yield (33.5 q/ha), while cv. Luxmi produced maximum oil content (37.4%).
