The reproductive status of a dairy herd is an important parameter which determines its economic viability. The reproductive status needs to be maintained at an optimum state of getting one calf in a year for a profitable dairy enterprise. The cystic ovarian degeneration is an important pathological condition having a significant bearing on the fertility of an animal. Workers have identified 12-14% of all repeat breeding cases to have cystic ovaries.
