The object of investigation was to perform the epidemiological features of bovine viral diarrhoea in the Lithuania cattle population. The number of serologically tested cattle was 3 798 from 147 herds of different size. The existing variations in the structure of cattle population and their keeping and care conditions determine different distribution patterns of BVDV infection. A positive correlation between the number of seropositive cattle and the size of herds and age of animals has been determined. The keeping period and sex of animal have no influence on the spreading of BVDV.
