The serological study of wild boar population for some viral diseases in Lithuania

Wild boar (Sus scrofa scrofa) population was tested for some viral diseases in 9 different districts (Alytus, Joniskis, Kaisiadorys, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Lazdijai, Marijampole, Prienai, Sakiai) of Lithuania in 2001. Blood serum samples were collected during hunting from shot wild boar. Serum samples for antibodies against classical swine fever virus (CSFV) were tested by ELISA test (NARVAK, Russian Federation). Serum samples for antibodies against bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV) were tested by neitralization test. Serum samples for antibodies against ADV were tested by TEST-Line ELISA kit (Czech Republic). Antibodies against porcine parvovirus (PPV) were found by haemagglutination inhibition test.
