Storage study of parental lines and F1 seeds of mestizo [rice variety]

The viability of Mestizo 2 and 3 parental line seeds rapidly declines when stored in ambient conditions. Storage of all parental lines in an air-conditioned room with dehumidifier maintained viability of Mestizo 2A and B lines. The viability of all Mestizo 3 parental lines remained higher when stored in an air-con room than in ambient or cold room conditions. R line seeds are not affected by storage in air-con cold rooms. Storage in air-con room maintained the moisture content of seeds during storage
