Determination of pesticides contents in vegetables

This study was conducted to assess the present situation of vegetable contamination through pesticides. Samples of vegetables were collected from Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Swat, Mansehra, and Buner districts of the study area and were analyzed on Gas Chromatograph (GC) for pesticides including dichlorvos, atrazine, BHC, methidathion and cypermethrin. Cypermethrin were not found in all samples of vegetables while methidathion was absent in the samples of pumpkin, cucumber, tenda and cabbage. Dichlorvos, atrazine and BHC were detected almost in all vegetables.
