Chemical properties of organic soils of the Stolowe Mountains National Park

This work describes the physicochemical and chemical properties of the soils developed in different water-site conditions within Stolowe Mountains National Park. The nine selected profiles representing peat soil, muck soil and mud soils were analysed, which ground base were the sandstone and marlstone. The number of soil properties was analysed: pH, Al, and H exchengeable, cation exchange capacity and its fraction in the sorption complex, the amount of K, Mg, P, C, N, S. The acidity of organic horizon range from strongly acid - pH 2.8 in H20 and 2.3 in 1 mol KCl/cubic dm to weekly acid - pH 6.6 in H20 and 6.0 in 1 mol KCl/cucic dm. The levels of basic cations with sorption complex ranged from 5.97 percent to over 90 percent. A number of chemical analyses showed different nutrient status of the organic soils in the Park.
