The aim of the paper was to determine content of Cd and Se in soils under different impact of anthropopressure. The cadmium and selenium contents were determined in 18 soil samples from southern and northeastern Poland. For cadmium determination in soil samples the GFAAS technique was used and the HGAAS technique for selenium determination. The Cd contents in soil samples from region under strong impact of anthropopressure were 4.6 - 64.0 mg/kg. The Cd contents in soil samples from region regarded as natural were 1.4 - 3.2 mg/kg. The Se contents in soil samples from region under strong impact of anthropopressure were 0.060 - 0.818 mg/kg. The Se contents in soil samples from region regarded as natural were 0.108 - 1.570 mg/kg
