2001
Leite, G.L.D. | Picanco, M. | Zanuncio, J.C. | Moreira, M.D.
The objectives of this work were to determine the effect of rainfall, temperature, predators, parasitoids, plant age, types and density of leaf trichomes, chemical composition of leaves and levels of N and K of leaves on populations of arthropods associated to the pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata var. Brazilian Girl). No significant effect were detected (P0,05) for plant age, rainfall, natural enemies, density of leaf trichomes, levels of N and of chemical composition of leaves on populations of phytophagous insects. However, population increase of adults of Bemisia tabaci was positively associated while populations of Aphis gossypii and of thrips were negatively associated with air temperature. Number of adults of B. tabaci was positively associated while number of adults of thrips was negatively associated with levels of K on leaves of C. moschata
