The application of variance components in variability estimation of quality characteristics of edible potato within the Siedlce trade network

The aim of the paper is to estimate the variability of quality characteristics of edible potato tubers within the Siedlce trade network, caused by years (vegetation periods) purchase months (period of tuber storage) and shops (deliverers, producers). It was found that the following characteristic were subject to the biggest chances in the researched period: the average tuber weight, culinary and usable type, starch content and raw flesh colour whereas peeling productivity, the darkening of flash and the tuber elongation coefficients remained the least affected
