The studies were carried out on selected treatments of long-term fertilization experiment at Lyczyn. The most probable number of anaerobic, mesophilic, spore-forming, cellulolytic bacteria was analysed by tube dillution technique and calculated using Mc Credy's method. The soil samples were analysed for pH and content of organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The regression analysis showed clear relation between organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content in soil and occurrence of investigated cellulolytic bacteria
