Energy consumption and efficiency of bushy willow cultivation

The study concerned energy consumption for management of a bushy willow plantation on agricultural land and the efficiency of obtaining wood chips in short cycles at varied plant densities. The first investigated factor was frequency of willow cutting, the second factor were six clone of willows and the third - planting density of willow plants. The highest yield of wood dry matter - 21.47 t/ha/year was obtained in three years cutting cycle. Shortening cutting cycle to two and one year resulted in yield decrease to 16.07 an 14.81 t/ha/year
