The study deals with yields from harvesting beech wood in certain regions of Slovenia. Simplified equations are provided for establishing the volume of trunk-wood in trees, the product from them and their wood yields. The tree yields vary considerably depending on the diameter and height of the tree, the quantity of branches, the shape of its crown and trunk and the intensiveness of wood utilisation in felling. The effects of individual factors are clarified and evaluated. More accurate factors for calculating the volume of marketable trunk-wood are proposed.
