Mechanical behaviour of soybean and corn under compression loading
2004
Dursun, E.(Ankara Univ., Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara (Turkey). Div. of Farm Machinery and Equipment)
In this study, mechanical behaviour of two different soybean and corn varieties were determined under compression loading. The tests were made at deformation rate of 40.2 mm/min, two loading axis and three moisture contents. Research results showed that rupture force decreased as soybean and corn moisture content increased while rupture energy increased. Rupture force and rupture energy values of soybean and corn varieties loaded in the x-x axis were found higher than those in the y-y axis. Rupture force and rupture energy of michell soybean variety were higher than clark soybean variety at both x-x and y-y load positions. Similarly, rupture force and rupture energy of cin corn variety were found higher than at dixi corn variety
