[Drought-resistance of maize hybrids]

Given are results of many-year studies of the dependence of yield of maize hybrids of various groups of maturity on the conditions of the moisture supply. According to Hungary's climatic conditions, at a precipitation rate of about 300 mm for a vegetation period it is more worthy economically growing the hybrids of FAO group 300, and when carrying out additional irrigation, of FAO groups 400-500. Among the hybrids of Hungarian breeding, the maize hybrid Norma is distinguished by the highest drought-resistance
