[Structural and functional organisation of a sugar beet leaf against a background of retardants]

Studied is the effect of Paclobutrazol (0.05 %) and Dextrel (0.3 %) on forming the leaf surface, mesostructure and assimilative activity of sugar beet leaves. A decrease in the leaf area is found out to be accompanied with thickening thereof on the account of an increase in the sizes of parenchymatous cells, a decrease in the sizes of epidermal cells. An intensity of the photosynthesis of leaves of the plants under study was lower as compared to those control and part of respiration processes in carbon dioxide gaseous exchange thereof is higher. Influence of the Paclobutrazol and Dextrel on leaf and mesophyll resistance of CO2-diffusion and a carbon dioxide concentration in an intercell spaces ratio was different. In doing so they show a different line of regulative activity of the assimilation apparatus with contribution thereof
