Studied are using a new approach for determining the risks of pollution effect on human health, while assessing the anthropogenous load, selecting the priority of the preventive measures to protect aqueous environment, expedience and effectiveness of introducing thereof. Information is analyzed according to 16 parameters of the condition of Dnieper's water in the zone of large industrial cities (Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kremenchuh), 16 parameters of water from the same cities' water supply, and also 12 indices of disease occurrence amid the population in the course of the years 1995-1998.
