Paddy drying systems in rice mills

Appropriate paddy drying systems in large rice mills was investigated to reduce paddy moisture content from 20 percent wet-basis to 14 percent wet-basis. Rice after milling was also in good quality. In this study, the performance of paddy drying systems in three rice mills with the same types of dryers but different installation and drying operation were investigated. Paddy quality and energy consumption of each dryer in each system were studied. The results obtained were used to find appropriate paddy drying condition and then to design high efficient paddy drying system.
