Concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in pomelo leaves

Soil and leaf samples were taken from pomelo, Tha Khoi cultivar, from the experimental plot at Phichit Horticultural Research Center in Pichit province. The objective of the experiment is to investigate on the soil chemical change and NPK concentrations in pomelo leaves. The experiment was designed as 3*2*3+2 factorial in RCB with four replications. Nitrogen fertilizer was applied annually at 50, 100 and 150 g N per plant. Phosphate and potash fertilizers were applied annually at 50 and 100 g P2O5 per plant and 50, 100 and 150 g K2O per plant, respectively. The 0-0-0 and 150-100-150 g N-P2O5-K2O per plant were additionally applied as control treatments. High residual P and K were found in the soil samples after harvesting. Higher consumption of N and K at more than 10 times of P were found in the leaves. The K content in the nearest leaf to the pomelo fruit is higher than the 2 and 3 leaves from the fruit. This will be concluded that K was mobilized from the nearest leaves to the fruit.
