Phosphorus fertilization and quality of the wheat grain
2005
Tosheva, E. (N. Pushkarov Institute of Soil Science, Sofia (Bulgaria))
A three years long field trial on the mineral fertilization of the winter wheat var. Sadovo 1 was conducted. The plants were grown on Orthic Luvisols. It was tested five rates of nitrogen - 0, 6, 12 18 and 24 kg/da and - 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16 kg/da P2O5 - applied as individually as in combination. It was studied influence of phosphorus fertilization on the quality of the wheat grain. It was founded that the individual application of P fertization increases the quality indices with only little differences. The high rate - 16 kg/da P2O5 however decrease the content of N, protein and gluten of the grain. The influence of combined N and P fertilization was stronger. There was the increase of the absolute values of the quality indicators in comparison with the individual application of N fertilization.
