[Species composition and the dominant structure in the staphylinid beetle communities (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) in contact zone of the forest plantations of the different species composition]
Derunkov, A.V.(Institute of Zoology, Minsk (Belarus))
The staphylinid communities have been studied in the zone of contact of pine and deciduous plantations in the Berezinsky biosphere reserve. The beetles were collected by means of pitfall trapping. A total of 88 species was collected. The staphylinid species composition in the contact zone changed very little. The most significant changes concerned the dominant structure in the staphylinid beetle communities. The complex of the dominant species (their total abundance was 85) been analysed. This complex was divided into five groups of species. The species of the first group were dominants in the beetle community independently of the plantation border position. The species of the second group prevailed in the deciduous plantation mostly. The species of the third group (Atheta europaea only) prevailed inside both forest tracts, but not on their border. The species of the fourth group prevailed in the pine plantations mostly. The species of the fifth group were "ecotonal dominants" (Tachinus corticinus, Olophrum assimile for example). They prevailed on the border between plantations only
