Pests of stored beans and peas
Almasi, R.(Poljoprivredni fakultet, Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro))
Bean and pea seeds are often attacked by weevils. As the entire development of the bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus Say) and pea weevil (Bruchus pisorum L.) takes place in the grain, the presence of these pests becomes visible only after the larvae finishes feeding and the germinability and nutritive and economic value of grain become considerably reduced. In this paper, there are described the biology of the two pests and preventive and chemical measures for their control.
