Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is contagious, slow progressing and fatal disease of the cat. During the last few years, occurrence of FIP in Belgrade (Serbia and Montenegro) highly increased, and became a serious threat for the population of indoor cats. Only in 2003, the FIP was diagnosed in 50 cats with developed symptoms, while the number of seropositive cats was greater showing that the infection is wide spread in the population. Large number of seropositives was euthanized and dissected. Pathological findings confirmed clinical and serological diagnose in almost all cases.
