Examining the stability of glass packaging to the effect of mild acid medium

In this work the object of examination was the stability of glass packaging used in food and pharmaceutical industry to the effect of 4% of acetate acid. The stability of packaging has been examined over the content of solvable lead. The content of solvable lead has been determined by application of potentiometric striping analysis (PSA) with oxygen as oxydant. It is highly sensitive, selective, simple and reproductive analytic technique. The results have been compared with non-flame atomic absorption spectrophoto-metric analysis (AAS) as referential technique.
