The influence of feeding young plants of the Sovignon White variety with potassium on yield and quality of grapes

The influence of feeding young plants of the Sovignon White grapevine variety with potassium on growing, fecundity and quality of grapes was examined in the period from 1994 to 1996. The research was conducted in the vineyard district of Grocka, on 'Radmilovac' locality. Four variants of manuring with potassium were applied (control, 50 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha). Results of the research show that quantity of potassium added had positive influence on growth of shoots, content of dry matter in shoots, mass of pruned grapevine per trunk, number of blossoms and clusters per bud of developed bearing shoot, number of berries in cluster and percentage of flesh in berry. Quality of obtained grapes enabled production of supreme wines from this variety.
