Dynamics of formation [of] sugar beet yield and quality at different levels of fertilization
2005
Jacimovic, G.
Two-year research was carried out on stationary field trial, at Rimski Sancevi near Novi Sad, Serbia (Serbia and Montenegro). In this trial were investigated eight fertilization variants with increasing doses of N, P2O5 and K2O (control, N100P100, N100K100, N50P100K100, N100P100K100, N100P150K150, N150P100K100, N150P150K150). The subject of this investigation were two sugar beet cultivars: in 2002, Sara and NS-Hy-8R and in 2003, Sara and Drena. Dynamics of formation of fresh mass yield (per plant parts) was investigated as well as the element of technological quality of sugar beet. Based on these results percentage of sugar utilization and yield of refined sugar was defined. In the spring, before applying of N fertilizer, during vegetation and after extruding of sugar beet root, content of mineral N in the soil and its influence on yield and quality was investigated.
