Dynamics of content of total mineral substances of autochthonous [Montenegrin] sorts of apple and selected types of wild apples

The paper presents the results of three-year research of contents and dynamics of total mineral subtances in the root and the tree of one year old fruting apple trees in the period of winter dormancy. The research was done on four autochthonous sorts (Senabija, Arapka, Pasinka and Sarenika) and nine selected types of wild apple (Malus sylvestris L.) in the area of Bijelo Polje, Montenegro (Serbia and Montenegro). The results of this research showed that the content of the total mineral substances was genetic characteristics of the sort, namely the type which influences the resistance to low temperatures. This is important from generative rootstocks production. We must point out the type 8, 2 and 7 as the beginning material for the production of generative rootstocks (main tree).
