The results of investigation of two types of Cemovsko Polje (Montenegro) by transmission infrared spectroscopy are presented in this paper. It is estimated that brown eutric soil of the surface layer (0-30 cm) has higher content of quartz, kaolinite and montmorillonite, as well as La-hydroxide, Al-oxyhydroxide and Fe-oxyhydroxide, but lower content of calcite in comparison with rendzine. In the 30-60 cm layer, tehre is not evidence of significant differences in content of mentioned minerals, except for kaolinite.
