Influence of temperature and precipitation on olive shoot and fruit growth

In conditions of Ulcijsko Polje, Montenegro, during the period 1987-1991, growth intensity of one-year olive shoots and fruit growth in Picholine variety were investigated. Growth parameters were examined in relation to the climatic condition, temperature and precipitation. Shoot growth was intensive in first phases of measuring, untill the beginning of July, and with increase of temperature shoot growth rate decrease. Influence of precipitation on shoot growth was not significant, while the influence on fruit growth was shown. Fruit intensively grows during the whole observed period especially from fruit set to the end of July and from the beginning of October to the end of observing period.
