The holes in the trees as limiting factor for the fauna or vertebrates and invertebrates of the grove in the province of Jaen [Spain] | Los huecos en los olivos como factor limitante para la fauna de vertebrados e invertebrados del Olivar en la provincia de Jaén

Dentro del Programa de Mejora de la Calidad del Aceite de Oliva en España financiado por la Unión Europea, se ha realizado un estudio sobre el uso del factor limitante huecos en los árboles, por las aves insectívoras nidificantes y otras especies de Taxones presentes en los olivares de la provincia de Jaén. En este trabajo analizamos los resultados obtenidos a partir de tres años de revisiones periódicas llevadas a cabo durante ocho meses. Para ello se escogieron dos zonas de estudio, una de Olivar Tradicional de Campiña con olivos de tipo 2 y otra de Olivar Tradicional de Sierra con olivos de tipo 3, donde se colocaron 95 y 96 nidales artificiales respectivamente. En general se pone de manifiesto en las dos zonas de estudio, la competencia por los huecos y la no-utilización de estos nidales por las aves. Además, en la parcela del Portichuelo los nidales son utilizados en menor medida que en la parcela del Berrueco, ya que el Portichuelo ofrece mayor diversidad ambiental a los distintos Taxones.

Within the Improvement Program for the Quality of the Olive Oil in Spain financed by the European Union, a study has been accomplished on the use of the hollow limiting factor in the trees, by the insectivorous nesting birds and other kinds of Taxons present in the groves of the province of Jaen. In this work we analyze the results obtained after three years of periodic reviews carried out during eight months. For this were chosen two study zones, one of Traditional Field Grove with trees of type 2 and other of Traditional Saw Grove with trees of type 3, where were put 95 and 96 artificial nests respectively. As a rule it shows in the two study zones, the competition for the holes and the non utilization of these nests by the birds. Furthermore, in the plot of the Portichuelo the nests are used to lesser extent in the plot of the Berrueco, since the Portichuelo offers greater environmental diversity to the different Taxons.
