As a result legislation, several problems arose in connection with waste management in the Hungarian wood industries. This article series presents a systematic approach to waste and secondary raw material handling in wood science. The authors identified five key waste sources, and created waste handling models for each of them, based on the evaluation of industrial operations. This article presents models for wood waste, surface treatment and packaging waste handling and recycling. Two further areas are discussed in the follow-up article, along with summary and conclusion
