Effect of canopies on the development of bud rot disease symptom on coconut

English. The bud rot disease is one of the important coconut disease and growth of the disease is influenced by environment factors, such as temperature, humidity and light intensity. The bud rot disease of coconut is caused by Phytophthora palmivora (Butl.). The result of laboratory research showed that temperature 25-30 degree C, 75 percent humidity and dark condition will able to support the vegetative growth of Phytophthora palmivora. Green house treatment with 0 and 25 percent canopies is able to increase the growth of disease intensity compared to 50 and 75 percent canopies. Actually, statistic showed the origin of isolate and canopies treatment with 0, 25, and 50 percent are not significant. Canopy treatment with 75 percent is significant to 0, 25 and 50 percent canopies. The interaction between them found that A1B2 treatment showed the highest disease intensity and followed by A2B2, A1B1, A2B1, A2B3, A1B3, A1B4 and A2B2. Penyakit busuk pucuk pada kelapa adalah merupakan salah satu penyakit penting pada tanaman kelapa yang perkembangannya sangat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor lingkungan, seperti temperatur, kelembaban dan intensitas cahaya. Penyakit busuk pucuk pada kelapa disebabkan oleh Phytophthora palmivora (Butl.). Hasil penelitian di laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa temperatur 25-30 derajat C, kelembaban 75 persen dan kondisi gelap akan mendorong pertumbuhan vegetatif Phytophthora palmivora (Butl.). Percobaan rumah kaca dengan perlakuan naungan 0 dan 25 persen dapat meningkatkan intensitas serangan Phytophthora palmivora (Butl.) dibandingkan dengan intensitas 50 dan 75 persen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa asal isolat dan perlakuan naungan sebesar 0, 25 dan 50 persen tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata. Sedangkan naungan 75 persen berpengaruh nyata. Interaksi antara asal isolat dan naungan diperoleh intensitas serangan tertinggi pada perlakuan A1B2 kemudian secara berturut-turut diikuti oleh perlakuan A2B2, A1B1, A2B1, A2B3, A1B3, A1B4 dan A2B2.
