Quick method of the starch content and cassava price determination

English. The objective of this study is to choose the quick and easy method to be applied in the field to determine the cassava starch content and to determine the fresh cassava price. The experimental design used was randomized complete block design, three replications with treatment: (A) the method of measuring starch content (enzymatic/laboratory) method, Reaman/field method and physical method/starch yield recovery, and (B) variety (line CM955, CMC-40, CG 1-37, Mcol 1684, CM 849-1, M ven 25 and CM 507-37). The research result indicated that the starch content of fresh cassava determined by enzymatic, Reaman and physical method was not significantly different. While Reaman method needed less time and easier to do compared to enzymatic method and physical method. In conclusion Reaman method has a good prospect to be applied as a quick method in determining the starch content in the field
Show more [+] Less [-]unknown. Penelitian ini bertujuan memilih cara penentuan kadar pati ubikayu secara cepat dan mudah diterapkan di lapang dalam menentukan harga ubikayu segar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan rancangan percobaan acak kelompok lengkap (RAK), tiga ulangan dengan perlakuan: (A) metode pengukuran kadar pati (metode enzimatik/laboratorium, metode Reaman/lapang dan metode fisik/rendeman pati ) dan (B) varietas (galur CM955, CMC-40, CG 1-37, Mcol 1684, CM 849-1, M Ven 25, dan CM507-37). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar pati ubikayu segar yang dihasilkan dengan metode enzimatik, metode Reaman dan metode fisik tidak berbeda nyata. Namun demikian metode Reaman membutuhkan waktu lebih cepat dan mudah dibanding dengan metode enzimatis dan metode fisik. Kesimpulannya metode Reaman mempunyai prospek diterapkan dalam penentuan kadar pati ubikayu secara cepat di lapang
