Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance of the different yield contributing characters were studied in twenty-five dahlia varieties. Higher magnitude of genotypic and phenotypic variances was observed for all the 13 characters Higher estimates of heritability coupled with higher genetic advance as percentage of mean was noticed in fresh weight of flower, length of flower peduncle and number of disc florets per flower.
