Consumer's concern for food begins to face the function of food, that is, the physical condition adjustment systematics from nourishment, deliciousness, freshness and safety further. A lot of food, which makes the systematics sales point, has already appeared, and the functional food industry has expanded the market steadily. However, function research just started, and the classification is imperfect in Japan. Our long-term research theme is to inquire into the possibility of development and the use of the function of farm products, and to clarify the social meaning of food. We make efforts to the classification of the function and system concerning systematics with this paper.
