"The closed recirculation systems have drawn much attention lately as an effective method for intensive eel culture under high stocking density, but there are few systematic studies on the technique for culturing eel in a high stocking density. The present studies have been undertaken with the purpose of establishing a culture technique to realize safe eel culture under high stocking density with minimum water inflow. This paper deals with the fundamental ploblem caused by the intensive eel culture uhder high stocking density, and standard plans for a closed recirculation system and the applicability of those criteria to the commercial eel culture. The results which were obtained are as follows."
