We investigated the differences among working time, work intensity and pest control effect when comparing the rail-track typed sprayer with power sprayer and hand-operated hose. It's necessary to pay attention on the amount of agent sprayed per unit area when employing rail-track typed sprayer to tea field. Since the rail-track typed sprayer takes time to install and remove due to complicated spray mouth, the preparation time before and after spraying when employing it (rail-track typed sprayer) was longer than power sprayer with hand-operated hose. However, the area employed rail-track typed sprayer required shorter hours to spray per 10a than the one employed the power sprayer with hand-operated hose when the amount of agent sprayed (per 10a) was equal. Thus the work intensity for the rail-typed sprayer is obviously lower than the power sprayer with hand-operated hose. When employing rail-track typed sprayer, the worker is able to handle it keeping a distance from the tea field. This allows the worker largely to reduce direct air raid of agent sprayed on his/her body a lot. In the test of application against kanzawa spider mite, the rail-track typed sprayer was more effective than the power sprayer with hand-operated hose. However, the deposit standard index of the agent coming through the area of the power sprayer with hand-operated hose on the backside of leaves near the hedge of tea trees indicated significantly small number. The point at issue was that this would consequently cause such trouble as decreasing the control effect of the chemical agent near the hedge of tea trees.
