Science | Issues in public health | Soil fertility and hunger in Africa
2002
Sanchez, Pedro A.
This reprinted article discusses the depletion of soil fertility and how that, along with other problems such as weeds, pests and diseases, is the major biophysical cause of low per capita food production in Africa, and this low production of food consequently results in hunger for a good number of the African people. Recommendations on ways to combat this are also talked about.
