Abstract My concern here is whether traffic control system introduced in many natural parks in Japan is effective in coping with problems derived from over-use. Users' cooperation and sympathy with management of natural parks are essential to implement traffic control successfully. We need to examine some problems of the present traffic control systems. In order to discuss subjects to get visitors' support of traffic control system, this study examined to grasp factors affecting visitors' support of traffic control systems and their relationships. This case study was based on the data collected by a mail-back questionnaire survey on visitors in Shiretoko National Park and Daisetsuzan National Park for three years. As a result, most visitors were acceptable to the present traffic control systems. Factors affecting visitors' attitude were interrelated to their acceptability and tolerance for inconveniency of the system. Amelioration of survey method should be needed to grasp some factors controlling stability of relations between the factors and visitors' supportive attitude toward the traffic control systems.
